CORONAVIRUS

When we went into lockdown in March 2020, Sydenham Singers continued to meet online using Zoom.

In the late summer, as the restrictions eased, we took advantage of some glorious weather to sing in a park in groups of 5 singers plus Janna.

When we moved into Tier 2, we were permitted to meet in a Covid-secure venue, but sadly Sydenham Garden was not suitable for socially-distanced singing, which meant we had to find a new venue. We were very fortunate to find one large enough to accommodate us at Holy Trinity Beckenham.

For a few weeks, we enjoyed singing together in person.

We all wore masks, and were socially distanced and without cake.

And as the temperature dropped we all had to wear extra layers because, with the windows open to ventilate the hall, it got really cold! But it was worth it!!

Then the second lockdown in November forced us back to Zoom.

In 2021, we start the term on Zoom with our new leader, Natasha.

Tiers 2 and 3 allow amateur choirs to meet in a Covid-secure venue, so we hope to return to Holy Trinity when we come out of Tier 4.
